Facilitator Training Program:
The Happy Kitchen/La Cocina Alegre™ Facilitator Training Program offers peer-training and resources to assist agencies in delivery of both the cooking and nutrition education classes and interactive nutrition demonstrations. The goal of this program is to ensure that families at risk for poor nutrition have access to cooking and nutrition resources.

A 20 hour workshop instills community members with skills and education to delivery the Cooking and Nutrition Education Classes. Participants gain important nutrition information and develop new cooking skills, like proper knife use, as well as learn to speak and present publically.

Mentor Cooking Class Program:
The Happy Kitchen/La Cocina Alegre™ Mentor Cooking Class Program pairs seasoned Cooking and Nutrition Education Class facilitators with newly trained facilitators. The Mentor Cooking Class program enables experienced facilitators to further their involvement with THK/LCA while also developing invaluable leadership skills by becoming peer-trainers. By learning to deliver the Cooking and Nutrition Education classes from peer mentors, new trainees gain invaluable experience, exposure, self confidence, and knowledge.

Continuing Education Program:
The Happy Kitchen/La Cocina Alegre™ Continuing Education Program enhances the skills and knowledge of experienced Cooking and Nutrition Education class facilitators. Facilitators are presented opportunities to expand nutritional knowledge, advance cooking techniques, and strengthen teaching and presentation skills.
